My particular expertise lies in High-Quality Varifocal Lenses, but we also offer Single Vision and Bifocal Lenses depending on your needs and preferences. We only supply lenses we trust and wear ourselves, always professionally fitted and priced clearly, with no hidden extras.

Hello, I’m Shirley Grimes – and I’ve proudly been part of the world of optics for over 25 years and I’ve always loved helping people find glasses they feel great in.
During that time I worked in our High Street Practice where I helped our clients choose new frames – not just ones that fit but ones that made them smile. I always found real joy in seeing someone walk away feeling more confident and comfortable in their glasses… That moment when someone puts on a pair of frames and says, “These Are The Ones!” — I’ll never tire of it.
Although I’m no longer in that environment, I’m excited to be involved in this next chapter with Grimes Vision. The setting may be different, but the heart of what we do remains exactly the same: helping people see clearly and feel good about how they look.
Now, more than ever, I’m able to bring my own experience as a glasses-wearer into what we offer. Recently I began to need Varifocal Lenses myself, and I can confidently say how life-changing they’ve been — no more switching between pairs or struggling to read menus! It’s genuinely exciting to now be supplying the same quality lenses I rely on every day, knowing just how much they can help others too.
I’m always happy to offer advice or a second opinion, whether it’s about lens types or simply you need a bit of reassurance, a practical explanation, I’m here for that.
I feel very lucky to be continuing this work with David and our daughter Jazzy as a family. It’s a joy to meet people, help them see more clearly, and make the whole process a little more personal and enjoyable. We truly believe in offering a service that’s not just professional but caring as well.
Hello, I’m Jasmin Grimes – and although I’m only 11 years old I’ve been part of the Grimes family optical world for as long as I can remember. In fact, some of you might recognise me from the David Grimes Opticians days, where I appeared in the local newspaper wearing a different pair of glasses every week. I didn’t realise it at the time, but I was already helping to make eyewear fun and fashionable, and I loved every minute of it!
These days, I’m learning more about the optical profession by spending time with Mum and Dad as they continue to help people through Grimes Vision. I get to see first-hand how rewarding it is to help someone see and feel better, without needing to change the frames they love. It’s inspiring to watch, and I feel really lucky to be learning from both of them.
I also love drama and performance at school so it’s no surprise I’ve always had an eye for a bold pair of spectacles! To me, glasses aren’t just about vision, they’re about personality, style, and confidence. I’ve seen how a great pair of lenses in the right frame can make someone light up, and that’s what makes this work so special.
I’m really proud to be part of our family business, and I’m excited to visit new places with Mum and Dad as they continue to bring their service to people around Kent.
